About lakepeek
lakepeek shows lake levels and tides in a few seconds, on a phone at the boat ramp or on a laptop at home. Each number comes from a real gauge or an official prediction, and each one is shown with the time it was taken.
Who it is for
Anglers, boaters, paddlers, lake home owners, families planning a weekend on the water and anyone who wonders how much water is in the local lake. lakepeek is a general audience site for adults; it is not made for children.
What is on the site
- Lake levels: 30 lakes with their own page (level now, difference from normal pool, typical level for the date, charts and ten years of daily history), plus state tables with every lake that reports to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
- Tides: 20 beach towns with NOAA predictions, a 7-day table and the lowest tides of the month.
Our rules
- Never show an old value as current. If a gauge stops reporting, the page shows the last value with its time and a gray notice.
- No made-up readings. We do not model or estimate a level or a temperature that no gauge measured.
- No safety verdicts. We show conditions, not advice. lakepeek is not for navigation, flood or safety decisions.
- Sources named on every page, and listed in full on the sources page.
Who runs it
lakepeek is an independent site, not affiliated with any government agency. It is run by a small team; the company details are in the terms of use. Questions and corrections are welcome at [email protected].
